1600 block of Sixth Avenue, 12:15 a.m. Saturday An apartment was burglarized, allegedly by a 27-year-old man arrested an hour later when Foster City police pulled him over for driving under the influence. A vehicle search produced the stolen property, which included jewelry and electronic items.

Unspecified Safeway, 12:15 p.m. Tuesday Two men accused of a scam that involves switching out gift cards, removing the gift card from the cardholder and placing another of the same brand inside and resealing it. Then at the checkout, when the bar code on the cardholder is activated, the original card is in the scam artist's possession instead of the card inside the holder. A detective in the store on another matter spotted the pair, a 21-year-old San Pablo resident and 20-year-old from Richmond.
